Very observant, Simon. Thomas and Markus have been working on this
today. Since the site is being prepared "live" on the prep server,
you may see changes like this occur before we announce them.
Yes, links to Google Earth will be automatically generated by the
prep server. We already have a prominent position in the Google Earth
community, thanks to Thomas' efforts. As of the next event it will be
an official part of the WWP site.
If you have played around with Google Earth, you will have discovered
features that let you view at an oblique angle (rather than straight
down) and raise topography in three dimensional view. The Expert Mode
added to the prep server will allow you (if so inclined) to specify
just what you think is the best view of your panorama location. If
you don't specify, it will default to the usual vertical view.
Thomas and Markus have signed off for the night - they are both in
the same time zone, nine hours ahead of Landis and me. There may be
more developments on the GE deployment before the site is created.
