Not original to me but Dennis Biela demonstrated this at Savannah and
I constructed it from his instructions.
Take a powerful flash preferably bare bulb (one connected to a
household circuit works best) I use a Norman System.
Buy a plastic globe light globe ? they come in various sizes, mine is
about 10 inches (I got mine from a hardware store called OSH) about
$8.00.
Buy a 4" sewer pipe connection about $4.00. This will allow you mount
the above on a stand or tripod on top and behind your camera. As you
swing the camera around keep the light source behind your camera and
you will be surprised at the pleasing result.
