wwp@yahoogroups.com:
IVRPA Panoramic Photography Contest
Landis 2007-Apr-17 17:59:00
As you all know by now, Don, Patrick (another SF Bay Area WWP
participant) and I are organizing the upcoming International VR
Photography Conference. The World Wide Panorama is a wonderful
project with collaboration and non-competition at the heart. Many
people have said that it would be great to have a real contest,
however, where you can enter your best works and compete with others
to win accolades and prestige. We thought that the best place to do
that would be along with the Conference. You don't have to be
attending the Conference to participate, but you do have to be an
IVRPA member. Membership is only $25, so it's a small entry fee.
Below is the official information from Patrick who will be running
the Contest.
Good luck and I hope to see many of you in Berkeley (and at the WWP
reception!).

Hi everyone:
In conjunction with this year's International VR Photography
Conference, the IVRPA announces its first annual Panoramic
Photography Contest!
Both print and interactive panoramas are encouraged, and there are
multiple categories available for submission: Landscapes, Cityscapes,
Famous places and landmarks, People and events, Architecture and
interiors, "Extreme" subjects and locations, Commissioned works, &
Interactive Environments.
Entries will be made online, and judged by a panel of respected
members of the VR community and by photography professionals in
related fields. The Contest will be taking submissions soon, and once
announced will be open for submission for about a month. There will
be prizes for First Place in each category, and Honorable Mentions.
There will also be Best of Show prizes, a People's Choice award, and
a special prize for Innovation.
The winning entries and awards will be announced June 17, 2007 at the
Keynote Banquet during the International VR Photography Conference in
Berkeley.
Entry is open to all IVRPA members; for those outside the IVRPA
community, entry can be made for as little as $25 (an Associate
membership to the IVRPA).
I'll let everyone know when the Contest is open for entries -- until
then, start blowing the dust off your negatives (digital or
otherwise ;) and get ready to give us your best shot!
More info is available at:

Interested people are free to contact me directly off-list, or via
the contact form at the Contest Web site.
Thanks!, and
Cheers,
Patrick
