I agree somewhat with this. Something definately happened with
Quicktime after version 7.
The only stable release for me is 7.0.4.
If I install any update after this, it works for a while, but it can
flip out at any time, and then it's just a matter of re-installing
and hoping that it works...(which it doesn't for most of the time.)
My only theory for this oddity is that the newer versions are very
hardware sensitive....
I'm using Windows XP SP2.
I have therefore stopped updating QT for this reason. I have an old
7.0.4 setup EXE, which I'm now using and don't have any problems
whatsoever. No hick-ups, it just works....
