mho, in a nutshell:
the geography department kicking us out: bad.
preemptive moves to prepare for this: excellent, thanx.
asking for donations: good (i'll chip in, when the time comes).
tying donations to submissions: bad (even if we could say, "if you can
afford a camera and a computer, you can certainly afford 5-10 bucks").
ads: awful.
corporate sponsoring: tread carefully.
hotlinking: bad (we need everything hosted in a reliable server; full
copies in other parts of the world is a different matter: unsure).
merchandising: good (if it doesn't jeopardize non-profit status).
speaking of non-profit, tax-deductible, etc: does anyone know
whether/how contributions to a us-based non-profit organization can be
deducted in the rest of the world, say, eu?
