Yes, it really seems to be some kind of Yahoo malfunction. I've switched to Digest, too, and have not received a message since. (I check via the group's webpage to see if new messages come in).
Yahoo is performing some maintenance from 13th to 15th, so I'll wait to see if a digest comes in after that.
