Good questions and suggestions. Unfortunately all I have been able to get is a promise to actually show the winners in the VR category when they are announced. Even that was a struggle.

The Pano Awards exhibition (part of a much larger photo show in Australia) has a "pictures on the wall" orientation and interactivity has been given no consideration.

Ideally, when awards are announced, the authors of the winning work would have programmed or recorded a brief pan-around, and that could be shown as a movie. Second best would be for the award presenter to interactively pan each winning pano. But I don't think they have anything like that scheduled, just a passive display of the winning prints. The website will of course have interactive panos.

If we (the 360 VR experts) make a good impression this year, maybe next year we can step into the limelight and get better presentation. The IVRPA is a partner in this contest (hence my involvement) and we plan to show the winners at Palmela, hopefully interactively.

More in a minute.
