Hi Sven,
Looks like you are using a Mac, so why don't you look at iMovie?
I have never tried this, but looking at the interface it has the "Ken
Burns" effect you are looking for, so you could add zooming and
panning, plus transitions and a bunch of other effects that you
probably wouldn't use. In addition you could add titles and audio
if desired.
I did a quick test with some shots from a recent pano, and the only
problem I found was that it was pretty slow, but then my files had
not been downsized to a proper screen resolution and were pretty
big to start with. The other downside is that it seems to require
that you have imported your images into iPhoto in order to access
them, but maybe that is because of my inexperience with this
application, and really didn't have a clue about all of its features.
I did this test on a dual G4 with a 1.5Gb Ram. I do have a G5 but
since you don't, thought I would give it a try on the G4.
I suspect that if you experimented a bit with the program, and
downsized the images for satisfactory screen display, that it would
be possible to do what you want. While I am sure that there must
be better or easier ways to do this, the fact that you are a Mac user
means you already have this software.
Good Luck,
George
