I'm working on something similar for SPi-V. SPi-V will (in the near future) let you start certain actions, like this screensaver-ish effect:

In your case, you could just start the effect straight away.
Note that in this example, I'm just waiting a couple of seconds before the effect kicks in, and there is no way to break out of the screensaver yet. Oh, and I am also using a very low res, very old pano here, but you'll get the point

anyone got an idea how to present panorama images in form of a slide
show that displays the panorama (full screen height) by panning
slowly from left to right? like the kenburns effect.
