Contest or Event - I think we need to stay a event..!

Not particularly based on Rick's comment, but more based on the general use
of the word "contest" - I kind of strongly feel that the word "event" is
more appropriate. And for the same reason I also want to raise a voice
against a rating system and maybe instead for the idea of a possible written
feedback system.
A rating system will eventually lead to a rating based search, and since
this is not a contest but rather a fantastic event, any kind of search based
on "best rating" "best technical" will to a large extend dis-qualify
participants who do have the equipment or technical skills. Along with this
it will also become more difficult to motivate a large number of people to
participate.
I think that the lack of rating is part of encouraging members from
everywhere on earth, this is one of the important parts of this event..!
To make a example using a safe guy I know is good. Hans don't need to know
he is good, and we all know it also.! However many people also do not need
to know they are not voted good. (smile) I do not want to know how far I
am away from Hans technically speaking or as a artist. I Having it in
black and white how poorly my panorama might rate.. might easily make me
less excited about the next event. (smile)
Therefore lets continue to encourage "non-competitiveness" (smile)
