Hello, I've been gone for months and suddenly wondered about a December solstice
shoot. I'm overjoyed to hear of Sanctuary. I visited the Wiki at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary
and added this line:
"Sanctuary can be a personal term; an individual can find or create a personal
sanctuary."
In terms of my dictionary, a sanctuary is the most holy part of a sacred place, which
could be called a "sanctum".
Does anyone remember Sacred Worlds? It is still on the web:
http://www.vrview.com/sacredworlds/
Read the About page. The theme could be close to Sanctuary in a wider or more
personal subjective context than that defined by a Church or official organization.
You'll also see some marvelously creative QTVRs there. Not so technically advanced
as today's big sharp images, but imaginatively still relevant.
On the QTVR list, there was extensive discussion of the meaning of Sacred World.
I've been working on a sanctuary pano for a year or more. I took images in the forest
out back of my condo, fearing the impact of new building construction nearby. I
wonder if the "before" pictures will be like a relic that I can embed in the "after"
pictures, being my connection to the pristine state of nature I revere as holy.
Thanks for an inspiring and fascinating theme!
