Thanks very much Bruno, it has worked! For the record, on CentOS 6.4 I had
to add /usr/local/lib to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable:

# export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib"
