I agree with those who think the controller is intrusive, and
disagree with the argument
that it is useful for newbies. It just delays the learning of how a
VR panorama works, and
with its jerky rotation detracts from the beauty of VR, which is to
be at the centre of a
scene and look around yourself as if you were actually there.
Controllers and auto-rotation
impose someone elses control and put a distance between the viewer
and the scene. The
sooner everyone learns that to control a VR you click and drag, the
better.
Also. on my Mac this controller pushes the 'close' button below the
Dock, where it is
hidden.
