Ah ha !  I do think your editing is a good thing and here then is an opportunity.  By way of an example the WWP form layout already does something like this for current "Event Copyright" usage.

In the blank event form just below the copyright usage selection please add 2 new required option check boxes:

Please select one:
[ ? ] I permit WWP Admins to edit my 'Description Text'
[ ? ] Please do not edit my entry contents.
--

This would reduce the needed work flow time to only those entries requesting help.
