Hi Don and All,

Here is my humble opinion about the subject.

1. No doubt it should be continued. Please count me in.

2. How often - solstice/equinox period and week-long time frame look quite
reasonable but... But there is a small issue - some very interesting and
spectacular events, seasons etc. may be out of the time frame. For example
the most spectacular foliage here in Eastern Ontario is in mid-October. Some
events like aboriginal people arts/crafts shows/festivals may be out of the
time frame as well. It may be also a lot of cases when any photographer is a
witness of an unpredictable event and it might be also interesting to find a
way to share these pictures with others. A kind of solution may be a
weekly/monthly news page (just an idea to discuss but not a proposal). I
guess many of us may give you a hand to help maintaining the website so you
and Landis may (must!) not be overloaded.

3. Number of participants. You may probably not focus on the magic number
100. I guess many of us if it is needed may provide two or three panos to
keep the number reasonable. I hope however that our pano community will
grow.

4. Themes. We may try not to narrow the themes to keep us relatively free
and creative. However there might be some cases when a successfull work may
stay out of the theme and out of audience. Probably it is a good idea to
leave some space every time for a "free theme" out of category. By the way
this may also solve the problem with panos taken out of the time frame. The
number of such a panos might be 10-15% of the overall limit for obviously
successfull jobs and it will also gives a good opportunity to present a new
kinds of pano art and new applications which we may not predict.

Well, I would be glad to hear your opinion.
Cheers,

Alex Makienko
