 Hi All,

I was thinking of the following places for
"Marketplace" in Singapore.

1) A wet market where you have stall vendors selling
fresh vegetables, meat, fish and fruits. You have to
be there to smell it, unfortunately I can't capture
that. You can still feel the warmth on a slab of beef
from a just slaughtered cow. It used to be a very
common sight in Singapore but the government is trying
to clean up the wet markets and forcing them to
upgrade to air-con stores with refrigeration. The
reason being it's more hygienic.

2) Singapore's famous red light district area,
Geylang. A marketplace for the flesh trade. I hope I
don't offend anyone here. The problem with this area
is that there is going to be a lot of people action
and the high risk of being chased away or even beaten
up the pimps and their men.

3) A small jetty near my place where a small fleet of
local fishermen bring their catch in for sale to the
local wet markets.

4) Local hawker food centre. You have rows of small
food stalls under one roof. Selling local food in an
open air environment. Again same problem with people
action.

What do you all think?

Cheers,

Alexander Ho
