Hello,
I'm sorry, Mr. Weibel, the WWP is nothing else than an art exhibition
in the internet, free for all. You are taking the creative ideas,
pictures, copy them and show them in your own exhibition hall without
asking the individuals. Nothing more, nothing less.
I'm wondering what would happen if I would visit the ZKM Exhibition,
taking 360-Photos of the whole Exhibition and then show it on a
business website without naming the ZKM? I'm sure the ZKM and the
artists would not be very amused about that.
Another aspect is the copyright of a photographed person / object
itself. They might gave us the particular right to take a photo and
show it on the WWP Website, but might not give the right to show them
somewhere else. So the photographer could be sued for that by the
photographed person / creator of a copyrighted object because the
photo was published side the given license. (no matter if the
photographer knows knows that or not!)
And there's nothing free in this world - even if you don't have to
pay entry fees. If you would not profit in any way, you would not do
it - even if it's just mentioned in a press article - you do get
press response in public. So a lawyer could argument that it might be
used as PR to catch visitors.
And there's no difference if it's a public art gallery or a
commercial company!
