wwp@yahoogroups.com:
just a week to go

The next World Wide Panorama begins a week from today - Thursday, June
16.
I think we have a great theme this time - water. Easy for beginners,
but offers challenges for all.
There is also a longer than usual shooting period - six days (June
16-21. And a longer preparation period, because of the US holiday
(Independence Day, July 4).
Thanks to the brilliant work by Markus Altendorff on the preparation
server, participants can start uploading their panoramas and captions
immediately, and watch the site grow until it closes briefly for the
final editing period. The site will be available to the public on July
5.
The last day of shooting, Tuesday, June 21, is the Solstice (at
precisely 06:46 Zulu time). This is the longest day of the year in the
northern hemisphere, shortest in the southern. 24 hours of daylight
above the Arctic Circle, round-the-clock darkness in Antarctica. The
end of Spring and the start of Summer (and vice versa down-under).
This year it is also a full moon. Ever seen a moon-bow? Like a rainbow,
but by moonlight - now there's a photographic challenge.
