Rules - What do we want to achieve from the WWP site?

Reading the recent posts about streaching the rules, it sounds like
most people want to stick to the rules but some would like to take
things further than the normal presentations. I can understand
people wishing to be creative .. BUT...
I always thought that seeing as the site is called the
world wide PANORAMA then all the entries should be panoramic
photographs, i.e A wide, all-encompassing view of the complete
surrounding area (from the Greek pan "all" horama "view").
So any views 180 degrees or more, ideally 360 is best. I like to
think that the photos should allow visitors to see places around the
earth "as good as being there yourself" from the comfort of your
home.
Also I would have thought each entry should be a real location on
the planet and should exist in real life.
Some entries I have seen have been fabriacted in photoshop and do
not actually exist at all. Very clever creations, but not really
what I thought the WWP was about.
Perhaps we should have a seperate extension to the WWP site which
allows people to be creative but personally I think that if you want
to do something different then you should have a link to your own
website from your entry on the WWP. This way people can see your
creations if they want to.
For example the stunning object movie of the flower by Gabi Haindl
is great but at nearly 7Mb its a bit heavy. Also I was expecting to
be able to zoom in on the details of the flower structure but I see
its not possible to zoom at all on it.
Why can I not zoom in on detail?, would the file size need to be
larger to do that?
I think the whole idea of the WWP is wonderful and one of the best
uses of the internet that I have seen. May it grow !
Whats the general oppionion on this?
