Sounds like a good plan, my last words and that's all from me...
I don't see that comments would create any sort of competition, or that they would change the focus of the pano shooting in any way, or that they would lessen the value of the WWP in any way, or that they would take much time away from viewing panos.
Comments could be moderated by the contributors, and it could be up to the contributors to decide whether to have comments or not.
Oh well, a good idea, shot down by unfounded hysteria.

I must admit I think we're just going in circles and I'm no closer to
understanding the objections than I was a few days ago, and obviously
no closer in convincing anyone to change their minds; in the
interests of peace I think I'll just drop out of this loop and leave
it, as we all must, for the organizers to make the call. I've said my
part and will respect the decision whatever it is.
And for the record, I think you're all nuts :P
