Dear pano-friends:
In Caracas, Venezuela, my plan for the E-Day was shattered on Friday when
the 19 year old son of a very close friend was murdered. I stoppped thinking
about everything and spent the rest of the day and most of Saturday
comforting a devastated family.
On Saturday, after arriving home, I realized it was a beautiful day: no
clouds, no traffic, and a very nice temperature. I decided I had still some
time before sunset for shooting outdoors, so I went out looking for the
closest place with a good view of the Avila mountain, the landmark of the
city. Avila is the surname of our lost friend, by the way.
I end up doing a mundane panorama just before sunset which I hope is a
tribute to the people of a city that is very beautiful, yet very cruel.
I hope I am not introducing a sad note in an event that is meant to be a
celebration. Let's celebrate and look ahead for better times,
