That's true. However, it's in the "window" menu of every Windows 
window, since it's an (almost) system-wide shortcut and not 
Explorer-specific. You can actually shut down your PC if you 
press Alt-F4 until every window/application has shut down (or you 
see the Desktop - closing the Desktop will shut down Windows).

Other useful Windows shortcuts:

F5 to refresh the current window
F2 to rename files
F1 opens the Windows help center (though i haven't found it 
particulary useful ;-)
"left delete" to move up one folder in Explorer (not sure who 
came up with THAT shortcut)
"right delete" to delete a file

And for the Apple users:
Apple+Q = quit
In Finder:
Apple+W = close window
Apple+arrow up = move up one folder
Apple+arrow down = enter the highlighted folder or open the 
selected file
Return = edit filename
