Hello,

browsing through the incredible new growing event I noticed that many
of you use a 5 second autorotate sprite. I personally find this very
annoying - I pan around, find an interesting detail or a very nice
view and zoom in and before I got to look at it closely it pans
away...

I see that autorotate might be useful for someone new to immersive
panoramas, showing that there's still something beyond the viewer
borders. I did use it myself for my first panoramas, but when I asked
people I sent a link to the Verdon pano whether they looked down,
they replied: "Oh, you can look down? I thought this is just a
video.."

And I think it's not good for the immersive feeling: In reality if I
look somewhere and the view slowly pans away I either drunk far too
much or I am very, very tired (or both ;-)

I don't know whether it is possible to have an autorotate sprite in
QT that stops after the first user interaction and does not start
again or to have complexe sprites that allow for something like Tom!
Striewisch realized in PTViewer:
