I agree that some presence on FB (and Twitter?) would be a good thing.
The way it works now it really carries no incentive to participate, because it's like sending your work into a black hole where few people see it, and even fewer comment it or gives any advice.
It certainly is how I feel atm ; why bother?
Making it available to more people won't make it a competition, but it might generate a renewed interest?
