The Library of Congress Panorama Collection
northwest_omnipresence 2005-Oct-08 17:46:00
I have taken a look at some (not all) of the past posted entries in
this group and did not see anything about the Library of Congress'
collection called "American Memory".
There you will find over a century's worth of cylindrical panoramas
taken between 1851 and 1991! Unfortunately this collection is only of
the United States, but still, as a historical resource for
photographers, it is quite an amazing view.
Here is the URL for the collection:

I stumbled across it earlier this year, and still find myself
returning to look. The site navigation is somewhat confusing, but
after a few unnecessary (imho) clicks, you will the TIF and jpg full
size scans of the images taken with traditional "film" cameras from
150 years ago till a decade ago.
