In 2000, people from the quicktime-vr list were finding photos from  
the American Memory site that matched their own and taking then and  
now panos. That is, they photographed the same site as it is now,  
from the same point of view. I wonder if they are in the list  
archives somewhere. Also, Steve made a sprite that would track one  
pano to the other. So spinning the old pano would spin the new one as  
well. Mine is not technically perfect, but shows the concept:
