> How Long?

So it seems that the factors affecting how long the WWP will
run are:

1) The number of participants 2) Public interest 3)
Administration

It would be good to have known benchmarks or goals to help
decide whether to continue from one shoot to another. For
example, what if the next shoot has only 50 participants and
only half of the visitors from the last shoot? Should we
continue?

Don's 100 participants seems reasonable.

Is there an official count of web visitors so far?

We should also have contingency plans for administrative
absences. At this point, if just one staff person (Don or
Landis) couldn't participate during a shoot (perhaps got
sick around the time of the shoot), the whole shoot could
potentially fall apart. That would be very disappointing.

> How Often?

To me, the "How often?" question seems tied to the themes
discussion. I'll await that discussion.

> When?

One essential question is: Will adding more days dilute the
significance of the shoot? If so, then how many days will be
acceptable.

We have to balance convenience for the photographer and
significance for our audience. A 24 hour period for shooting
is very meaningful, but may decrease participation. The
solstice/equinox day extended through a weekend would be
more convenient, but potentially be a 5 day period.

Would a 5 day period be less meaningful to the public? I
vote no.

I think we should discuss the release day too. I think a
more "significant" (whatever that may mean) release day
increase our publicity. Releasing and publicizing the web
site almost 2 weeks after the solstice/equinox seems to
decrease the significance of the event, especially since
it's practically *about* the solstice/equinox. (It's already
"old" news.)

(It's too bad post-production takes so long - if we could
only shoot, stitch, post, and release the web site all on
the same day...)
