I would use the word "n?ring" as the best Danish-Swedish-Norwegian
single word for it.
N?ring is both food as the amount of Nutrition/Calories in food and
it is also the name for what you do as profession.
My "n?ring" is photography as it could be fishing, agriculture etc
I can see that in German the word Nahrung is used as the only
translation.
Another translation is underhold, underh?ll in Swedish.
Usually that means the money you get from the part who earns most in
a divorce, but it can also in Danish mean the supportt you get from
the state if you have no income from work, pension or insurance.
