I would like to point out an interesting thread about mapping on the Dupal board: http://drupal.org/node/10136 Various projects, solutions and sites are being mentioned. Personally I am thinking of a map as normal image (or SVG, see below) where the panorama locations are DHTML layers floating above the map.
