Yes, I prefer the dark background.

However if your using CSS could it not be an possibility to have a
preffered theme chosen by the user ?  I do appreciate this is more
work, but as ever when a choice is offered some will prefer the
opposite to the majority :-)

The links do not seem to be changing colour however, that is a
definite loss.
