As one of the list owners of PanoToolsNG I have heard no complaints
about Nabble or Gmane, especially considering that on that list the
Yahoo! archives are already public and searchable without needing a
subscription. Some members of that list read and post solely through
Gmane and Nabble and requested they be added along with the Yahoo!
public archive.
If you have any problem with Nabble or Gmane making your personal
posts publicly available in a venue not of your choosing, just add a
specific mail header to your messages. With the "X-No-Archive" mail
header added to your mail, neither Gmane nor Nabble will add your
message to their database (but Yahoo! still will). If you feel the
subscription of Nabble or Gmane to any of the lists you belong to is
an issue that goes beyond your personal posts, you have to let the
list owners know about it.
