I'm with Erik on this one. A sudden stop is harsh and takes away a bit of
the magic when looking around. The way it behaves now is fine to me
though. Subtle, but much better than a numb full stop.

What worries me a bit is the silent way in which events are or aren't
announced the last couple of times. You guys are doing a great job and I
probably can only guess how much work each event puts on your shoulder. I
don't really understand why you don't make it easy on yourselves and stick
to a campagne schedule though. Something like: announce the theme and it's
informative text, send the announcement to all known panorama lists and
forums and maybe even the press, send weekly reminders to the wwp list,
send daily reminders the last couple of days before shooting and before
the edit timeframe stops. Announce the new theme big on the homepage.
Twitter the new theme, syndicate it, the works.

I know, that sounds like a lot of work and we have a saying in Holland
that roughly translates to "the best captains can be found on the shore",
meaning the ones not doing the work are always good at telling the ones
that do how to do it. Forgive me if my message comes across like that.

It's just that the wwp is a great thing with quite some history. I would
hate to see it slowly die (I admit, I haven't looked at participant per
event stats).

Regards,

Serge
