Yes they work  in Safari but they also crash in iCab even if you only have 800x800 pixels cubefaces and no buttons.
800x800 is far to small for  iPad, you need min 1024x1024  to get a100% resolution at an acceptable FOV.

Safari, GoodReader  and Skyfire works but they all crash if you try to use the zoom buttons.
