wwp@yahoogroups.com: Gardens, a few that I have noticed. Robert Bilsland 2006-Jul-09 22:59:00
Well after a few nights of going thought the entries, looking at
everyone's panoramas and reading their descriptions, I've finished. A
task that I want to do because as everyone has gone to the effort to
create them its the least I can do.

The first thing that strikes me about the entries is two sub themes
that have appeared Japanese and Community gardens. For example I like
Ken Stuart's Hannah Carter Japanese Garden, all beautifully built into
the landscape (as well as the Koi carp below you) and Sam Hatch's
Children's Community Gardens, after all it's something that children
can easily do and enjoy the results. Of course these aren't the only
two, there are plenty more examples of these themes.

Other gardens that have caught my eye are Luis Benitez's Cosmovitral
Jard?n Bot?nico / Botanical Garden. The colours and amount of stained
glass windows in this garden is overwhelming. I am high lighting Larry
Cassis's In Memory of David (Doc) Littlefield 1942-2006 because of the
reasons for using this location, it seems a fitting way to remember
someone. Uri Cogan's Butchart Gardens just looks like a wonderfully
kept place that would be nice to go for a walk and Martin Hrdlička's
Rose Garden - KONOPI?TĚ castle looks very well kept with a very formal
layout.

I like Jook Leung's Longwood Gardens because of it's content, orchids.
This is a flower that I love and the variety that is on display here
is wonderful. I love the topiary in Kerry Rudy's Cypress Gardens, so
many different animals it must have taken so much time to create. Erik
Van den Broeck's Wimereux, OpaalKust, Pas-de-Calais, Frankrijk shows a
wonderful sunset, I could imagine sitting there feeling a warm summer
breeze myself and finally Masao Yamamichi's Magic Mirror, beautiful
but which way is up again?

These of course are just a selection that I made, and there are plenty
of others. If you have not seen all the entries then I hope this might
get you to look at some that you have not seen before. Also if you
have found an entry that you like, then why not share it with the rest
of us letting us know why.

Hope you enjoy my selection,

Bob Bilsland.
