I've just begun to browse through the entries and, as always, it's a
pleasure to see so many wonderful and interesting images, on ANY theme.
It seems to me that problems occurred once "sustenance", a term with
somewhat defined boundaries, morphed/expanded to encompass its root
concept "sustain", a term that is extremely broad.
I'm with Keith and Bernhard ... though I haven't contributed to ALL
the events, this one just didn't inspire as some others did. And I
concur with Jakob that translating the "word" for the theme may have
contributed to the problems, i.e., diving down to the root, than
resurfacing in a world far removed from the original intent.
Of course, maybe extremely broad interpretation WAS the intent. Don't
get me wrong. I am delighted that the themes are chosen to both
challenge and stimulate us. But I can't help but feel that a the more
focused themes have produced better submissions.
