I have tried to catch up the messages sent to this list during the past days and i agree that this issue is a serious breach of the terms and conditions under which the panoramas are published.
To make things more complicated:
Some of my panoramas captured for the WWP event were only possible by signing agreements with the respective operating companies about how the panoramas can be used and which applications are forbidden.
For example, i have a license contract with the "Schoenbrunn Betriebs GesmbH" with very restricted terms of publication for the "Sanctuary" shot inside the Schoenbrunn Palace.
A similar agreement exists for the "Water" panorama inside the Dachstein Ice Caves.
This means, there are 2 things to observe:
- Using the panoramas for other applications than displaying on the WWP site may be a more serious issue than "just stealing some images".
- A simple monetary compensation for such panoramas can't be accepted from my side. This would in turn shift the breach of agreements to my person.
I haven't said that an agreement wouldn't be possible in principle - but it would need further discussion of the involved parties to find satisfactory terms of employment for the panoramas.
