wwp@yahoogroups.com:
Danish walking streets

I went to Aarhus yesterday to do something completely different than
this.
As the old Saturday "torvedag" seemed to have disappeared completely I
went for a walk at the main street and suddenly realized that our
Scandinavian way of using them is something special.
Almost all cities in Denmark has during the last 40 years got their
Walking Streets, free of traffic.
The central market place has become a parking place in many cities.
The walking street has become a part of the shops along it and almost
all shops are marketing special offers outside on the street usually
without anyone guarding them. Even if the large Magazines complain
about people steeling, I never heard of anyone complaining of this
happening on the exhibitions on the streets.
I just did a search in Google and found an article about the
Scandinavian Walking Streets

The subject was not very "photographic" so I made my panorama at one of
the more colorful shops along the street.
I would like to have the sound tested for different connections.
I have been using VRhotwires to ad directional sound. QTVR incl sound
1.5 mb

With CubicConnector sound is added as a last part of the movie which
results in nobody hearing it as
most people already leave the movie at the time the sound starts.
With VRHotwires the sound is spread in between the tiles of the
panorama and it seems to work with a fast connection.
The sound file in this one is only 200kb and with my 512k DSL it starts
while the first cubeface is loading.
However when I test it in DeliVRator simulating a 256k connection you
have to download at least 4 cubefaces before the sound starts.
I can not understand why it is not possible to ad sound to a QTVR at
the start of the movie so that it downloads in the same way as if it
was a separate sound-file.
I have used streaming 4 mb separate sound movies on a fullscreen page
which seems too start and work fine without interfering with the QTVR.
