Hi all,
after reading most of the interesting discussion, I just wanted to
share my opinion.
WWP as a community-effort:
I always saw the WWP-event as a community-effort of interpreting a
common theme. Lots of different locations, lots of different views on
a single theme, lots of panos over the whole world and lots of people,
who try to prepare their submission in time :-)
Loosing someone of the community:
Therefore I think it should be represented as a whole. Unfortunately
the new "backdoor" only focusses on fullscreen-QTVRs and some panos
are lost. Blame this comment on my injured ego, as one of my
WWP-entries is also not available as a fullscreen. But nevertheless I
think it's part of the event and should therefore be accessible via
every entry-page to the event.
The interface:
I can't see any benefit of the new thumbnail index. The thumbnail
index uses a different format than the original WWP-site and therefore
produces some horrible results. There is no real search or navigation
and I quickly get lost.
Thoughts on (c):
I'm not a lawyer, but in my opinion the production of new thumbnails
and the banners on top of the pages is derivative work from original
art which should at least be authorized by the (c)-holder.
I hope my comments are helpfull in the ongoing discussion.
